Puerto Aventuras is about 20 km south-west of Playa del Carmen along Federal Highway 307. On the sea side is a gated community with a marina, a golf course and condos; on the other side of the highway, the town. There is a Chedraui supermarket next to the highway. It suits you if you want marina life and quiet, and accept relying on a car or colectivo to get to Playa.
